Question: Why learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)?

Answer: Brazilian Jiu/Ju Jitsu has proven itself to be one of the most effective martial arts for self defense.  BJJ uses techniques that allow a smaller opponent to subdue a larger opponent.  It is perfect for self defense, women’s self defense, kids bully-proofing.  It is one of the only martial arts where “pulling punches” is not necessary.  The actual movement can be completed in it’s entirety allowing the student to know exactly what a finishing move “feels” like.

Question: Do I need to know anything before I start?

Answer: No, we have a motto “leave your ego at the door”.  Professor Brent has been teaching martial arts for most of his life.  He has designed a curriculum that will allow the most novice of newbies to feel comfortable while learning the foundation of BJJ.
