I was in Michigan for a couple months because of work and one of my best local findings was the DownRiver JJ. Great classes, great people and welcoming environment!

Trained there while I was home for the holidays and could not be more impressed. The classes were really well structured and the atmosphere was very welcoming. The gym is also pristine. Its kept very clean and the new mats they installed make a huge difference. Will definitely be back next time Im in town. Would highly recommend!

The instructors and practitioners at Downriver Jiu-Jitsu are worth experiencing for anyone considering the BJJ journey or trying to find a new home. Patience permeates every interaction I have had with both the instructors and fellow practitioners. I was brand new to combat sport when I joined and my comfort level has increased every class along the way. I am very grateful for the instructors and the people I have met here. I would have given a 10-star recommendation if it was possible. I highly recommend this BJJ family to anyone in the market. You won't regret it!

DJJ (Down River Jiu-Jitsu) is an amazing place for adults and children to learn. Professor Brent Insco, is a great teacher, who is very compassionate about the school and the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, which is an awesome combination for the students that train at the DJJ facility. I can speak from experience of knowing him, he is not in it for money, he is there because of his passion to teach. A grand choice and a great place to train. Coach Tyrone Gooden.

My sons always been bullied and shy not very confident, has had some behavioral issues and anxiety. since joining 2/3 ish years ago he has gained some confidence and found a few friends and mentors in his team mates. Never been invited to much and he’s been to a few gatherings. He has definitely come along way. Definitely recommend Downriver Jujitsu

When my kids showed interest in jiu jitsu my husband and I did our research. We were looking for a place that not only had promise for kids but for adults as well. We wanted our kids to be able to develop and grow at a single academy— one they did not age out of or get lost in. We’ve now had kids apart of Downriver Jiu Jitsu for over 2 years. It’s brought my sons together, given them confidence, bravery, and a skill set that includes discipline and self-control. My 5 year old daughter can’t wait to start and my other daughter tried it out but has never been made to feel less than even though it’s not for her. I highly recommend!!!
